Proof of concept: Another opportunity to validate the potential of your project

Would you like to bring new products or services to market but need to verify the technical feasibility and commercial potential of your planned R&D project? Or have you already done a significant part of the R&D but need help to finalise it and prepare for the subsequent commercialisation of the product or service? Thanks to the Proof of Concept programme, which will be open in April, you can get support to prepare a feasibility study or to take your own research to the final stage and prepare the commercialisation of the outputs.

Supported activities

Activity A – Validation of the feasibility of an innovation

Support for the creation of a feasibility study analysing the technical and commercial viability of an innovation. The output is a document that determines whether the project is feasible and what its prospects are.

Supported activities:

  • Technical feasibility analysis
  • Assessment of market and patent opportunities
  • Identification of partners for collaboration
  • Preliminary tests and studies

Activity B – Completion of development and commercialization

Support for companies that already have validated research and want to take it to the final stage and market.

Supported activities:

  • Real-life testing
  • Pilot projects and prototypes
  • Performance validation
  • Preparing for certification and reducing the cost of market introduction

Applicant

The applicant can be SMEs or small companies with a medium market capitalisation.

What can be subsidised

Eligible costs include:

  • personnel costs
  • costs of contract research, consultancy and external professional services
  • licensing costs
  • depreciation – cost of tools and equipment used for the project
  • overheads and other operating costs

For Activity B, the following:

  • costs of secondment of highly qualified staff from the research organisation,
  • fees related to the protection of intellectual property
  • costs for innovation advisory and support services.

Amount of funding

The amount of the grant ranges from CZK 1-10 million for Activity A and CZK 1-50 million for Activity B.
