SIGMA: Supporting early career researchers
The application deadline for the SIGMA programme is now open. This time, the focus is on supporting early-stage researchers to collaborate on specific projects directly with subjects from application practice (sub-objective 2). This call for proposals follows on from the earlier ZÉTA programme and this time is thematically focused, so you need to choose one of the following topics:
- Telemedicine
- AI and sustainable mobility
- Manufacturing technologies and materials
- Community energy and its management systems, small-scale energy storage
What is eligible for funding
The allocation for this call for proposals is EUR 230 million. The total amount of funding available for this public procurement is 230 million CZK, with an upper limit of 5 million CZK per project. CZK. Funding is available in particular for researchers’ salary costs, the cost of tools, instruments and equipment in the form of depreciation or contract research and other direct and indirect costs. The maximum aid intensity for the entire project for all applicants is 85 % for the entire duration of the project.
Who can apply for funding
Applicants can be entities of all sizes from all over the Czech Republic, including Prague, and the project consortium must include at least one enterprise and one research organisation. The research teams of the submitted projects must consist of at least 3 early-career researchers or female researchers, at the same time each participant must have at least one researcher in their research team. The conditions for applicants are set in such a way as to lead to equal opportunities for women and men in applied research.
